I have been developing a video decoder for Digital TV for several years. Elementary streams come in a wide variety of characteristics in my field.
It is impossible to follow up with variety issues without ES(Elementary Stream) analyzer and Elecard StreamEye Studio was found to be best qualified.
It provides all the information we want. In more details, some of the applications are feeding to a decoder the data that is insufficient or incompatible with our decoder.
And we needed to clarify what caused decoding errors. Therefore, we dumped the physical memory and then analyzed it.
With Elecard Stream Analyzer visualizing a binary input, we could save a lot more time than when we previously had analyzed it by ourselves with a hexa editor.
For one more example, we needed a reference decoder to clear the error caused by our decoder or input. At that time we were using Elecard StreamEye for comparitive purposes. It easily defined which one really had a problem. There is one more commercial ES analyzer, as far as I know, but it is too costly. On the contrary, Elecard Stream Studio provides a quite reasonable price. In conclusion, I think it would have been impossible for us to complete our TV project on schedule, if it had not been for Elecard StreamEye Studio.
It is not a secret that the true art of video compression resides in algorithms used to pre-filter video content, find optimal (codec-specific) coding modes, and then quantize and turn related information into bits.
Elecard StreamEye is a tool purposely designed for visual inspection of the results of work of such algorithms and understanding of optimality of their decisions. It covers most deployed video codecs (MPEG-1/2, H.264, HEVC, VP9) and lets you color and see all specific coding elements that they use.
If you are tuning your own encoder, compare encoders made by different vendors – or just trying to quickly find the source of a problem manifesting itself as visual artifact – this tool is for you.
Complementary to Elecard StreamEye the Studio package includes a number of utilities that should be in the arsenal of every video compression engineer: stream analyzer, decoder buffer (HRD) analyzer, quality analyzer, and raw video player.
Last but not least – the package is remarkably affordable. Compared to similar in functionality products coming from other vendors – this one is a steal!
I used Elecard StreamEye 4 to investigate CU/PU level inter-dependencies in HEVC bit streams, specifically for adaptive GoP video streams. StreamEye 4 was used to verify bitstreams from different opensource encoders with the goal of implementing HEVC benchmarks/workloads for research purposes.
Elecard StreamEye 4 software has helped me to understand more the inner workings of HEVC encoding. The software parses the bitstream and displays an immense amount of information of each Slice/CTU/CU/PU of the HEVC stream in a clear and concise way. The UI is intuitive, smooth and stable. I am very satisfied with the software as it has both served well as a bitstream verifier and has helped to improve my knowledge on HEVC codecs. I will happily continue to use this tool for my research work.
I have been developing commercial video processing applications for the cable TV business for several years.
As part of the video applications development process I needed a tool which will allow me to deeply inspect the video stream and analyze it from different perspectives, TS level, elementary stream level, and the actual video level (HEVC).
The Elecard Stream Eye analyzer provides all these characteristics in one tool, making it a good solution for anyone needing to inspect and analyze video streams.
The Elecard Stream Eye analyzer is a stable application at a reasonable price.
I highly recommend it.
There are many different tools in the market place. The functionality of these tools is very similar to each other and each one offers different depth of analysis for coded video file and streams.
I've used many of these tools to date. Granted for various purposes and reasons, each of these tools serves their unique purpose well. However, the one tool that I've used the most is Elecard StreamEye Pro. If you are in the video processing and video coding industry, then you should have this tool in your arsenal too. I'd call it a "swiss-army knife" tool for video coded file analysis.
My reason for saying that is that StreamEye is a must have tool for a video coding professional, because it allows to inspect details of the core codec. Having ability to see coded picture buffer, gop structure, vector positions, inspect frames in variety of YUV formats, do comparative analysis, derive various picture appraisal ratings and other aspects of video analysis quickly is quite essential. Expediency and availability of necessary elements to conduct through analysis is important to me because I need to configure and tune transcoder to get the best picture possible, while maintaining interoperability for targeted outputs.
Elecard CodecWorks server is a great H.264 streaming engine. We use it in our daily work environment and it is one of the most reliable pieces of software that we have had the pleasure of working with. The support team responds in a timely manner, and is extremely helpful when needed, and have answered any question about the system that we have had. We would recommend Elecard CodecWorks for an H.264 streaming engine to anyone who needs to broadcast continuously.
It is vital to enable students to experience the effects of playing around with the encoder parameters and to watch them analyzing these effects using well established engineering measures. This is especially true for today's coding standards which apply a toolbox approach and allow a vast number of encoder configurations. The above-mentioned tasks are greatly simplified by Elecard StreamEye and the tools included in the Studio version.
Thanks to Elecard developers for a great tool making it easier to understand the art of video compression.
We went to Elecard because it could offer us a unique service where everything is IP-based. Their CodecWorks codec gives us elasticity. When we pull a feed in from a particular transponder that has, perhaps, 10 or 15 services, but we only need six, we are able to input those as MPTS groom the services and output to Mux as SPTS. Elecard developers designed a system that is now a very important part of our integration. In fact, it gives us the best IP encoding system in the market.
We believe that Elecard CodecWorks is the best solution that meets the needs of the operator.
ODMedia is expanding its linear TV channel offering on a European scale and we were looking for a solid and flexible solution that would seamlessly integrate with our modern approach to deploying linear tv channels.
Codecworks proved to be very stable and offers tremendous bang for the buck and flexibility. Support for the product is very good. I would recommend this software to anyone looking to build a linear channel solution.
StreamEye offers a lot of powerful options. I use the software very specifically: to check the link between Presentation Time Stamps, I-frame sequence and decoded pictures in order to validate SCTE-35 event triggering messages. The personal support of the sales and development team was very much appreciated.
The Elecard StreamEye and Stream Analyzer tools have been invaluable in allowing me to quickly diagnose and pinpoint a wide variety of video related issues. The tools are easy to use and provide detailed inspection of the video stream.
In particular, StreamEye has been invaluable in it’s ability to enable quick inspection of a stream, pinpoint a specific region, and then dig deeply into the details of that video region in order to ascertain the source of the problem.
I’ve used and recommended Elecard tools to three of my last companies and look forward to using these tools in the future.
Elecard high-density transcoding solution based on Supermicro blade system made it possible to transcode all our channels in each region on a 3U server. This solution is power-efficient and space effective, while there is no any visible quality degradation. Our benefit is evident as we shouldn't spend money on new end-user devices.

Teaching video coding techniques to both undergraduate and postgraduate level requires merging concepts of various topics such as signal processing, image processing, information theory, etc. under one, more complex, concept. The best way to understand their impact on video coding and how its one of them influence coder’s performance is to visualize these concepts with real video data.
By enabling students to see the impact of changes in encoder’s parameters, one offers them the opportunity to understand their connection with fundamental theory aspects. Moreover, the possibility of supporting various coding standards is essential not only for emphasizing on the differences among them, but also for clarifying their basic common base. In this way students have the opportunity to understand in depth the functionality of modern encoding standards. The above-mentioned tasks are greatly simplified by Elecard StreamEye and the tools included in the Studio version.

After having used the various versions of the Elecard MPEG Player, from 2.0 through 5.7, through the last several years for video and audio verification I am pleased to continued to the newest version, 7.1.
The information that can be easily accessed, from video and audio PID values, through the Info tab to the statistical information, through the Parameters functions make the software easy to use, understand and depend on. The resizable video screen helps my team in whatever way they wish to view their work, the Playlist's general ease of use along with the History and, if needed, the Bookmarks, make the processing of multiple files and going to back to work previously done for picking up where you've left off or saving lists for our needs effortless for the amount of files we go through.
The ability to view subtitles or Closed Captioned files is also pleasantly simple and with the world's addition of MPEG-4, 4K and HD-720 abd 1080 my team's work has been made even easier. The plugins for AVC for the older versions of the software were simple in their inclusion and the software streamed everything together seamlessly. The newest version of the MPEG Player includes all of the plugins making the system even more capable and ready for immediate use.
In terms of comparing players, both free and purchasable, for my team's needs I would choose Elecard every time. The simplicity of viewing the needed information - with VLC you have go searching for PID information including encoding and bit rates, MPC-HC will let you right-click on the screen and then search the menu to get some information but Elecard has it all already visibly available - you may have to click on a "+" sign but it's all readily available. Even going to the Setting is a simple button click right on the player. There is no need to click on a menu, look for Options or Preferencies and then find what you need.
Lastly, it plays everything my team has tried. Yes, most of the other players can play everything, too, but when you add in all of the other plusses and remarkable statutes of the program this leaves Elecard on top of the list for me. Arguments can be made for other players, certainly, but when you want the best you're going to pay for it - and Elecard is the best for my team!
